Dr. Mark Carr
Dr. Carr graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. He then attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry and graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 1985, the year he and his wife moved to Cameron and they have four children. Dr. Carr sponsors a Rocket Program each summer for the Middle School and is the President of the Friends of the Cameron Animal Shelter. The new dog park was Dr. Carr's concept and he also sponsored it to completion. He also donated the shelter for Gigi's Purrs and Pawz. Dr. Carr has served as an officer in the United States Army as a Medic and then as a Dentist , as well as on the Missouri Veteran's Home Board. He has served on the Boy Scouts of America Executive Board for the Pony Express Council. He has also served on the City of Cameron Planning and Zoning Board and the City Council. Dr. Carr was Chairman of the Comprehensive Plan Committee which wrote the current ten year plan for the city.
Dr. Carr's hobbies include woodworking, photography, flying, high power rocketry, family history and genealogy, tall case clock collecting and restoration, as well as gardening, shotgun sports and gun collecting. He has been featured on the Discovery Channel twice with his rockets. He is the curator for the Carr Homestead Foundation and he has appeared on Antiques Roadshow.
